Please read the detailed descriptions below!

Effective cooperation between the Buyer and the Printing House starts with a properly prepared graphic.

We hope that we will be able to provide useful and practical assistance, thus laying the foundations for our future successful cooperation!

Useful general information

  • Our printing house works with FLEXO printing technology. For printing, we use flexible printing plates (clichés) fixed on cylinders of different circumferences.
  • Flexo printing is mainly used for packaging material. In our case, this means self-adhesive label production, film and casing printing.
  • The graphic design of the self-adhesive label, the film and the casing is a special task. The design must also take into account the specificities of flexographic printing technology.
  • Adobe Illustrator software should be used for the design. It is also the basis for the pre-press and cliché creation system.
  • Avoid using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw! None of them are software developed for packaging design. They may cause compatibility problems, data loss – for which we cannot be responsible- and extra work during pre-press!
  • Graphic design, conversion, the modification of existing graphics (e.g.: text or any other part) are not included in the pre-press services. Should you require such a service, please contact our Graphic Design department through your sales contact!
  • Graphic files are generally received by email: grafika@mizsepack.hu. If the file size exceeds 15 MB, it is recommended to send it with a giant file sender (e.g. Wetransfer).
  • For information on the mandatory elements and font sizes to be displayed on the packaging, please follow the links below:

Design aspects of label graphics

Expectations for data submission:

  • Primary file format: ai (Adobe Illustrator)
  • Secondary file format: pdf – Only with “Illustrator default” option!
  • The composition of the graphics should aim to be essentially vector format. For texts, captions, etc., a vector design is essential, but also preferably for other graphic elements, pictograms, thin lines, etc.
  • Bleed application: min. 2 mm in the round..
  • Clear, separate marking of cutting line in direct colour, with the name “die cut”.
  • Please convert the fonts in curve used in the graphic!
  • If use spot colours, please specify the exact PANTONE Nr.!
  • If the substrate is transparent, coloured or has a metallic surface, it is necessary to use WHITE colour. The cliché of the WHITE underlayer is of course determined by the nature of the graphic and the customer’s requirements. For ease of interpretation, it should be placed on a separate layer, called WHITE direct.
  • The different surface treatment processes (e.g.: form varnish, hot- and cold stamping, embossing) should also be marked with a separate direct colour, on a separate layer, with the name of the process!
  • Placed images should be in tif or psd format. Please embed the images or attach them separately in a layered format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.

Design proposals:

  • For legibility, the positive font should be no smaller than 4 pt, and the negative font should be at least 6 pt bold, without a foot.
  • Please place big surface colours in direct colour.
  • Avoid big surface and fine colour gradients in the common colour.
  • The text and essential graphic elements are placed min. 1,5 mm from the die-cut.
  • Avoid using thin, white, negative text on multicolour images and graphic elements.
  • Avoid gradients to zero (min. 2% or more).
  • Minimum line thickness: 0.1 mm for positive lines and 0.2 mm for negative lines.
  • The barcode (e.g. EAN-13, QR, etc.) should be in vector format.
  • Black text should be overprinted, one separated colour should be black, not CMYK!

Design aspects of foil graphics

Expectations for data details:

  • Primary file format: ai (Adobe Illustrator).
  • Secondary file format: pdf – Only with “Illustrator default” option!
  • The composition of the graphics should aim to be essentially vector format. For texts, captions, etc., a vector design is essential, but also preferably for other graphic elements, pictograms, thin lines, etc.
  • Clear, separate marking of the cut size of the foil, in direct colour, with the designation “size”.
  • Please convert the fonts in curve used in the graphic!
  • If use spot colours, please specify the exact PANTONE Nr.!
  • If the substrate is transparent, it is necessary to use WHITE colour. The cliché of the WHITE underlayer is of course determined by the nature of the graphic and the customer’s requirements. For ease of interpretation, it should be placed on a separate layer, called WHITE direct.
  • Placed images should be in tif or psd format. Please embed the images or attach them separately in a layered format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.

Design proposals:

  • The design should take into account the size and location of the photocell mark (eye-mark), the position of the rest and unprinted zones and the overlap areas as defined in the labelling machine specification. These specifications may be obtained from the labelling company or the customer may be asked to provide them.
  • For legibility, the positive font should be no smaller than 4 pt, and the negative font should be at least 6 pt bold, without a foot.
  • Please place big surface colours in direct colour.
  • Avoid big surface and fine colour gradients in the common colour.
  • From the edge of the film – for technological reason – in the running direction it should be keep min. 1,5 mm unprinted line.

Design aspects of the casing graphics

Expectations for data details:

  • Primary file format: ai (Adobe Illustrator).
  • Secondary file format: pdf – Only with “Illustrator default” option!
  • The composition of the graphics should aim to be essentially vector format. For texts, captions, etc., a vector design is essential, but also preferably for other graphic elements, pictograms, thin lines, etc.
  • The flatwidth of the casing and the image repeats (repeat length) should be marked.

  • During the work out it should be adapted the repeat length of the artwork elements for the existing printingcylinder’s circumferences of Mizsepack.
The printing cylinder list and the layflat of caliber’s technical drawing are available through your Mizsepack contact!
  • For legibility, the positive font should be no smaller than 4 pt, and the negative font should be at least 6 pt bold, without a foot.
  • Please place big surface colours in direct colour.
  • Avoid big surface and fine colour gradients in the common colour.
  • The text and essential graphic elements should be positioned at least 2 mm from the edge of the casing.
